X2ProLE Audio Convert App Reviews
I love FCPX, I used it every single day as a pro editor for more than 12 years. The only thing I don’t get it’s the no-AAF (nor OMF) export available in the app. Fortunately, X2Pro is here to solve this problem. It works very well, perfect AAF files. Can’t work withoiut it!
Simply put, if you are using FCP X and need to output pro-audio for mixes you need this app! The resulting AAF files are perfectly organized (especially if you used roles properly), so much so that I’ve had audio teams comment, “we’ve never received a project this organized!" While the LE version should do fine for smaller projects, consider upgrading to the full version if only for the ability to adjust handles. If, like me, you discover after having purchased LE that you need the full version you can easily upgrade in the app through an In App Purchase, which I commend the creators for allowing us to do. While I may not use the app every day, when I need it I couldn’t be happier that I have it. Five stars.
Not Working
even ı show media storage, it says no clip found and aff convert stopped ı got very sad about it
questo programmino funziona solo su durate brevi… ho montato un film da 90 minuti e al momento di convertire l’xml creato con final cut x, eseguo la procedura e mi da errori inerenti a qualcosa che è incomprensibile. "An error occurred converting Final Cut XML to AAF Writing AAF file Adding assets to AAF file Adding essence for asset [1.6 6 1 CAM A] to AAF file Opening audio extractor for portion 0 of asset [1.6 6 1 CAM A] Failed to initialise audio extractor with default bit depth of 24 Failed to resolve bookmark for asset No AAF file has been generated. X2Pro Audio Convert LE 3.0.5” A volte su una clip a volte su un’altra. Ho provato in tutti i modi ma non c’è niente da fare. inoltre non è possibile esportare da final cut direttamente come si vede nello screenshot.
It suppose to do only one thing but it doesnt. I bought it a few days ago for a feature film and every time I trying, it stops with errors. I was looking to get some help but the only "support" you have is a Forum in their website. I couldnt find an email address or a phone number for contact. In the Forum there are more people complaining about the same problem.
This program is literally a life saver. Seamless integration between FCPx and Pro Tools. Price point is decent for the LE version and still leaves room for improvement for more professional uses to upgrade. The only thing I would fix is, from someone who organizes their footage and sound in various folders, it takes a LONG time to add folder permissions for x2pro to view each folder one at a time. I would love to see a way to add a folder but also include all the subfolders inside.
Worked fine the first time I used it. However, the the second time it’s giving me this error message: "Unfinalized audition found at 00:00:00.00. Please finalize all auditions before exporting Final Cut XML.” There’s no unfinalized audition at 00:00:00:00 or anywhere else in the cut. I tried deleting and reinserting shots at the start of the project but the error message remains. I tried going on their website. They do have a forum but for some reason, it rejected my gmail email address as “not able to receive email,” so I can’t log on to get help. There is no other form of customer support — no email address, no phone number. It’s a basically a virutal company. So, I had to post here. It would be better if they had easier accessibility to sort out issues.
This app just isn’t working for me, and there’s no way I can contact the company. I have a big project with a lot of EQ and volume adjustments, along with noise reduction and automation. None of that gets retained in the AAF.
X2Pro is just fantastic. Super simple to figure out and learn, really smooth workflow and my audio guy is super happy with the AAF’s I’m sending him. For larger projects you’ll likely need the in-app purchase to Pro to handle everything, but the purchase was easy and no problems unlocking the Pro features.

I’m a sound mixer trying to convert my client’s FCPX .xml export to a professional format (.aac). App will not work unless all media is available in its original location, which means the FCP user’s computer only. The app cannot find correct media if it has been copied to a new location. In the end my client had to buy a copy and that worked. I wrote to Apple explaining the situation and asking for App Store refund and recieved no reply. All this to be ripped off for $60. This app can only be used by the person exporting their FCP project. It has very limited capabilities for the price, and support beyond the forums is nonexistent. 0/10, would not recommend.
Final Cut Pro X clearly isn’t meant to be a professional video editing program… I mean, who offers software that doesn’t export a file type to be used for the next link in the chain?! i.e. Post-Sound Only Apple designs software with intended limitations, so you have to spend more money on “third-party” apps… Also, MadOpus, I believe if you have all the files in one folder from the editor, or client, for X2Pro to reference, it will work on your system as well. Don’t quote me, as I haven’t had to use it. All the editors I work with are using professional programs to edit in. ;)
